It’s very unfortunate the retirement, relocations or health issues affecting our local docs ( yes they do have a life too ), has been taken so personally by a number of residents/patients.
I’m certain every doctor and the group health centre has worked very hard for the past couple of years attempting to recruit doctors to take over their practice here in Sault Ste Marie.
This has really been a blow to the community, it’s also been a blow to the medical community who will have to do their very best to pick up the slack. I would imagine most people in the Sault Ste. Marie workforce appreciate and look forward to their family time and down time. This personal time is when we can all ( as people ) decompress, try our best to put our work on the back burner until our next scheduled shift when we return to our work life. Doctors and medical professionals ( our superhero’s ) are people too.

First off I would like to say how important science is and how the youngest of our population should be exposed to science in their curriculum.
Although I am recently retired I must say I am still traumatized by science fair projects. The problem is every parent/ student/family dynamics varies. It was only my experience 20+ years ago that many parents completed projects on behalf of students rather than guiding and supporting our children . It was very frustrating and personally hurtful for children. It can be very competitive rather than educational.

It may be a funny idea for a fundraiser, however I agree with the other posts, it is a very risky endeavour. This is degrading, and may create unsafe situations for many people.
I’m sure there is a positive way to make $20 or $50.

I live in the west end just north of second line. Early last week I was out with my dogs around midnight. I’m quite sure it was snowing heavy that night. I thought wow, smells like a plane is dumping fuel. It smelled horrifically like aviation fuel. Not sure if the two are related. It was so unusual. The smell sent us back inside very quickly. Not the same putrid air that covers the west end when the ceiling is low with clouds and little air movement.

For all those who have negative comments - just be kind.
There is a forgotten market who will benefit with this retail business; The older/elderly population, with many aches, pains, stiffness and sleep issues. I suppose we don’t know the local dealer, or oil maker, or perhaps in this age of scary street drugs just feel more comfortable buying through a retail outlet where we know exactly what we are getting.
