Gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye, which makes its way into major everyday items like certain condiments, bread, licorice, and beer, can be a threat to those with Celiac disease when it attacks their intestines.

For this percentage of the population, finding everyday products without gluten becomes vital. Hence, Jennifer Labine, knowing what it is like to live a gluten-free difficult life, started Jennifer’s Gluten-Free Kitchen with a mission to help those that are living with celiac disease, non-celiac gluten sensitivity, and the family and friends that support them, by providing products and services that are always 100 per cent gluten free, delicious, and promote joy in living a gluten-free life.

Currently, she offers baked goods, small-event catering, take-out dinners, and customized meal-prep services. She believes that the key to success for Jennifer’s Gluten-Free Kitchen is building and sustaining relationships.

The mission of Jennifer’s Gluten-Free Kitchen, “To Promote joy in living a gluten-free life”, involves providing products and services that are guaranteed to be gluten-free, delicious, healthy, restaurant-quality, and inspired by local produce.

“An increasing number of restaurants and bakeries in Thunder Bay are providing gluten-friendly options; however, for someone that is celiac or non-celiac gluten-sensitive, products that are gluten-friendly are not good enough. Unless a kitchen is 100 per cent gluten-free there will always be a risk of cross contamination.  We guarantee 100 per cent gluten-free products always. Customers are guaranteed products that are always 100 per cent gluten-free and not just “gluten friendly”.  All products are made from scratch and utilize local suppliers as much as possible. The focus is on restaurant-quality taste and appearance. Equally important is providing experiences for clients that inspire joy in living a gluten-free life,” Jennifer says.
