Selena Filice is offering a fresh perspective in family law

Selena Filice is the firm's newest associate lawyer. Filice was called to the bar in 2023. Her practice area of focus is family law, including divorce, separation, property division, support, and child-related issues of decision-making (formerly custody) and parenting time (formerly access).

Family law can be very personal to the client, and with Filice’s fresh perspective coupled with her strong advocacy for clients she is sure to make every client feel comfortable and heard.

“I try to deliver an outcome to my clients that is the best for them and that will support their future. I like to think that my practice is very client focused,” she said.

For Filice, practising in family law is rewarding because she can really help families.

Being born and raised in Thunder Bay, Filice knew she wanted to stay after the completion of law school.

A lot of the time, family law can be very contentious, but Filice is committed to a resolution-focused approach.

“The legal issues can sometimes feel overwhelming or complicated. That's when someone like me comes in. I am able to lay out the issues and the options and then take on the work of navigating the legal complexities, so we can work together toward a resolution that brings peace of mind,” she said.
