THUNDER BAY — St. Patrick High School was evacuated as a precaution after receiving a threat.

An email release from the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board stated that students would be bused home or parents and guardians could pick them up on their own.

The school was closed for the day, and all after-school activities and community events were cancelled.

In an update from the Catholic board, students will be allowed to collect their belongings today between 1 pm to 3 pm.

Thunder Bay Police and the school board completed a walk-through of the school and have deemed it safe for students to return to classes on Wednesday.

This is the first time the school has been closed due to threats in 2024.

In December, there were numerous threats made that resulted in various evacuations and hold and secures for students and staff.
