There were over 220 riders with their ATVs and side-by-sides lined up along Stroms Road off highway 590 on Saturday September 7th as riders prepared for the 3rd Annual Half-Way Motors Power Sports 5 Aces ATV Fall Classic charity poker run.

Machines of all ages, shapes and sizes were tearing up the 70KM trail and flinging mud in every direction to raise money for Our Kids Count. Parts of the trail were dry and grassy, some parts were muddy and sloppy, while other parts were completely immersed in over 3 feet of water! The trail was a little challenging at times, and in the “extreme mud” section there were groups of die-hard mudders who had hours of mud-bogging fun, winching each other out and covering themselves head-to-toe in mud.

Cash prizes of $1000, $500 and $250 were awarded to riders Doug Corbett, Michelle St Pierre and Jeff Hill, respectively. The top pledge earner was Paige Cordone and she won a $2000 barbecue sponsored by Clow Darling. All thanks to the generous sponsors, registrants, and pledge earners, the charity poker run raised over $25,000 for Our Kids Count.

Rebekka Redd, Women's Health Top 10 Female Angler in the world 2017, brought her niece to the 5 Aces ride and gushed about their adventure, "Boulders, mud and sink holes. This was a great atv run...challenging and super fun!"

Half-Way Motors would like to thank all of the community sponsors, volunteers, and dedicated staff who helped make this event a success as well as the participants and pledge earners. Our Kids Count is Half-Way Motor’s choice charity and they are proud to support the cause through the 5 Aces ATV Fall Classic and the many other community initiatives throughout the year.

Photos from this year’s poker run can be found on the Half-Way Motors Power Sports Facebook page and donations can be made towards Our Kids Count any time at the Half-Way Motors Power Sports store location at 710 Balmoral Street or at Our Kids Count at 704 McKenzie Street.
