THUNDER BAY – A new season of Fresh Air Tuesday evening Trail Runs has begun! And while the trails were damp and muddy, the sun was shining and the crowd was excited. More than 90 participants ventured out on the 2.5 kilometre short course or the 5 kilometre long course! And as always, there was a large crowd of kids participating in the kids’ mini-run for treats! Alan Cranston from Fresh Air was on hand taking registration, helping with timing, and handing out winner and draw prizes.

The schedule is out for another season of Fresh Air Trail Runs at Kamview Nordic Centre. Kamview Nordic Centre General Manager, Dave Suttie, is confident that the trails will be in excellent condition for the next trail run, a special event run known as the Fresh Air 10 kilometre and 3 kilometre on Friday, May 24. This event is an annual fundraiser for the George Jeffrey Children’s Centre.

The dates for the Fresh Air Tuesday Evening Trail Run series are as follows:
June 11
July 9

August 13
September 10
September 24

Registration for these Tuesday evening trail runs takes place at Kamview Nordic Centre from 5 to 6 p.m., and the timed runs start at 6:30 p.m. It is $5 per participant. There will be a short course and a long course. And as always, a FREE kid’s mini-race!

Kamview Nordic Centre will host 4 other special Trail Run events.

The 40th Annual Fresh Air 10 kilometre and 2.5 kilometre Trail Run is happening on Friday, May 24 with all profits going to the George Jeffrey Children’s Centre.

On Friday, June 28, the muddiest trails, gnarliest single-track and natural obstacles will be found on the course of the Kamview Midsummer Mudslinger.

On Tuesday, August 27, Kamview will host the 3rd Annual Run or Walk for Reijo!
