6 local flag football players (11 and 12-year-old athletes) will compete this coming weekend in the National Flag Football Championships in Tampa Bay, Florida. This is the largest flag football tournament for youth ever to be played in the US, hosting 242 teams from 5 countries. The team from Thunder Bay is 1 of 2 Canadian teams competing in the tournament. This is the first team from Thunder Bay to compete internationally in flag football. They earned this opportunity through winning the championship at the Minnesota tour stop in Blaine, Minnesota this past summer.

The athletes on the Thunder Bay Knights team competing are Carson Auger, Boston Bortolin, Kain Cristofaro, Aiden Palko, Jack Popowich and Nolan Poirer. Some pictures are attached.
