Highland Dancers Entertain Residents

Students of all ages perform to the delight of residents at Hogarth Riverview Manner.
The instantly recognizable sound of bagpipes filled the air late Sunday afternoon.  Children as young as 3 dressed in tartan danced their hearts out for an appreciative capacity crowd.

Every year Morgan’s School of Highland Dancing schedules a number of performances throughout the city geared toward the elderly.  Heather Morgan says it’s important to bring joy to their audience.

“These performances have so many benefits for both the dancers and the residents. Dancers get to give back to the community while gaining confidence and building their dance skills. Residents get to connect with younger generations while being entertained and, in some cases, being reminded of their heritage.”
The enthusiastic audience couldn’t agree more.

Dancers of the Highland School will be performing next at the 55+ Centre December 8 in preparation for their annual Holly & Heather Christmas Concert on Dec 10.
