Light Winds Test Patience in Latest Club Race
Last night’s race proved to be a frustrating affair for many crews, as the wind barely made an appearance. With average speeds hovering around 5 knots — and dropping — conditions were far from ideal.
While most boats managed solid starts, the breeze faded quickly, prompting race officials to shorten the course by one leg. The final downwind leg became a slow-motion crawl to the finish, just ahead of a light drizzle that marked the end of the evening.
Despite the tricky conditions, Straight Jacket made a strong debut in its first race of the season, claiming victory alongside Mongoose and Blade Runner.
