Northwest Narwhals 20th Anniversary Regional Swim Meet

One hundred and thirty athletes from four  Northwestern Ontario swim clubs competed in the Northwest Narwhals 20th Anniversary Regional Swim Meet.

THUNDER BAY -- One hundred and thirty athletes from four  Northwestern Ontario swim clubs competed in the Northwest Narwhals 20th Anniversary Regional Swim Meet sponsored by Massaro Construction LTD., over the Nov. 23-24, 2019 weekend. 

Members of the Fort Francis Cyclones, Dryden Dolphins, Thunder Bay Thunderbolts and the Northwest Narwhals all had outstanding representation. 

Swimmers representing the Northwest Narwhals defended their home pool with distinction and compiled 91 personal best times which included 125 medals (68 gold medals, 36 silver medals and 21 bronze medals). 

Medal winners included Diego Barcena-Martinez, Ana Lucia Barcena-Martinez, Katelyn Battigelli, Nicholas Battigelli, Elly Bodnar, Paige Brown, Emma Cournoyer, Helen Crowe, Justin Felix, Elissa Filice, Liam Francis, Maddox Holmes, Marko Iwanyszyn, Mikayla Lambert, Ella Opaski, Eric Osala, Kam Paradis, Slate Paradis, Mathew Waddington, Katherine Warkentin and Frank Yang.  Ayan Islam, Alessia Opaski, Cindy Pang had terrific showings as well.

A big thank you is given to the many volunteers who ensured the meet was a huge success for the participants!
