Mount Baldy athletes have put on a great show in Southern Ontario these last few weeks. Port Arthur Ski Club (PASC) and Thunder Bay Franco Alpine Ski Team (TB FAST) both had competitors attending the Ontario Winter Games at Calabogie Peaks Resort in Calabogie.

Josef Burkhardt captured the gold medal in the U18 Giant Slalom, followed closely by George McGregor who placed 2nd, Lucas Flye came in 7th with Charlie Hurdon placing 8th. As for the Slalom event, Keira Chow grabbed the gold in the Women's U18 category, while George McGregor came in first in the Men's Lucas Flye and Charlie Hurdon also placed well, coming in 5th and 6th respectively.

This isn't the first gold in recent weeks for Keira Chow. She placed first and third at Buck Hill, Minnesota in the Slalom FIS event in early February. Peter Robinson placed 10th and 19th and Harrison Chow placed 12th in both races.

Blue Mountain hosted the Ontario Special Olympics this last weekend and Logan Shepherd did not disappoint. He participated in the Giant Slalom where he was able to steal the gold. In the Slalom category, Logan won the silver.

Congratulations to everyone and great job representing Thunder Bay.
