True northern competition success

Giant Gymnastics athletes travelled to St. Paul for competition last weekend

Giant Gymnastics’ competitive team wins again. The team of competitive athletes travelled to St. Paul Minnesota to attend the very honourable Classic Spectacular competition held at the St. Paul RiverCentre.

Top finishes were Alyssa Blazino, Level 7, winning Vault with a high score of 9.35. Blazino also went home with medals on Floor (9.225) and Beam (8.935). She placed 2nd all around with an overall score of 35.875.

Blazino’s teammate Ella Gasparotto topped the podium with her in 3rd on Vault with a score of 9.05. In the Junior division Harper Lilley receiving a second-place medal on Floor, and teammate Addison McGirr receiving a high score of 9.125 for the same event. Katie Tofinetti bringing home the 3rd place medal on Vault. Their amazing work led them to the prestigious 2nd Place team award.

The Level 8 division had high placed scores for Macy Gashinski on Floor with 8.775 and teammate Abby McGirr with a bar score of 8.75.

Grace Gaudino received 2nd on Vault in Level 9 with a score of 9.05 and shared the podium with teammates Grace Porter receiving 3rd and Hannah Palko in 4th. These amazing high level athletes won the team award receiving the 1st place banner to hang up proudly at Giant Gymnastics.

Sophia Tofinetti had an amazing experience showcasing her high-level skills as the only level 10 athlete attended by a Thunder Bay athlete.
