Thunder Bay is bursting with energy this Saturday, beginning with a trio of bustling morning markets. The Thunder Bay Country Market, Farmers Market, and Goods and Co Market all open by 10:00 a.m., offering an array of fresh produce, handmade goods, and local charm. Also at 10:00 a.m., Wazison Arts hosts the Makers Market, a great stop for unique creations and artisan finds.
In the afternoon, immerse yourself in local history and culture with Can Car and The Rosies and Treaty 3: Manidoo Mazina’igan, The Sacred Document, both starting at 1:00 p.m. The acclaimed production of Women of the Fur Trade continues with a 2:00 p.m. matinee. At 3:00 p.m., unwind with Vinyl Saturdays at Red Lion Smokehouse. As the evening approaches, the Light the Night for Shaganash event begins at the Current River Community Centre, featuring a 5:00 p.m. gathering and a 6:00 p.m. fundraising dinner hosted by Canadian Lighthouses of Lake Superior.
Saturday night brings a lively lineup of entertainment across the city. The Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra takes the stage with “A Trip to Broadway” at the Community Auditorium, while the Badanai Theatre Co presents The Music Man. More performances of Women of the Fur Trade are also scheduled. Music lovers can head to the Italian Cultural Centre for Sleeping Giant Folk Music or enjoy the Saturday Night Dance at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 5. Later, Black Pirates Pub presents the vibrant ICONICA 2 Drag Show, and Mother of Wolves hits the stage at the Wayland. Cap off the night with Live Band Karaoke or the DJ Rogue Dance Party at The Foundry.
