To the editor: The Lakehead Antique Car Club is proud to represent the city of Thunder Bay by welcoming the Coasters cross-Canada tour, leaving from B.C. and traveling east.

Coun. Aldo Ruberto on Monday said he thinks most Thunder Bay residents would be willing to trade their right to freedom in order to feel safe in the city.

It’s hard to believe the events that have been unfolding during the Olympics. From what I’ve seen and read so far I continue to be amazed and amused by the performance of all Olympians from the athletes to IOC executives.

Alex Atwill is a shining example to us all. The nine-year-old selflessly asked his friends to forgo giving him birthday presents at his recent party.

Whenever we have house guests they always seem to leave a few things behind when they move on, some by mistake and some on purpose. When they leave I like to go around and collect all these little treasures.

On Monday, city council agreed to seek an extension for access allowance on Little Norway Road.

The wheelchair accessible washroom at Victoriaville is ridiculous. First, there are no stalls in the men or women's washrooms, only a general population one that is locked at all times.

To the editor, This evening while shopping at a local big box store my son asked me to purchase him a new bike, his had recently been stolen from our neighborhood. Sadly I had to explain to him that we cannot currently afford to purchase a new bike.

Maybe, not likely, someone will wake up and bring back the spring bear hunt.

I watched the news from Toronto last week with mixed emotions. I was alarmed by the amount of gun violence in the streets of that city but I felt very relieved to be living here in our sheltered corner of Northwestern Ontario.
