To the editor: I once sat on a program to help the homeless here in this city. I represented the homeless people in transition while living at the Salvation Army Centre.

What an interesting election we have appearing to shape up, no more so in the hotly contested mayor’s race. Heading into this year, incumbent Keith Hobbs had to be considered the prohibitive favourite, despite a few stumbles along the way.

To the editor: This year's municipal election is really shaping into a competitive race for all the positions.

Unifor workers and the community certainly deserve a whole lot better. Labour laws need to be changed and new labour laws passed to protect the unions, their members and our communities.

What do you get when you mix ground beef with coffee and crullers? You get the world’s third largest purveyor of artery-hardening, cardiac-arresting fast food snacks.

To the editor: Thunder Bay as a city some short years ago was a great city and a place a person could be proud to say they were from. Now it has become a scary and un-nerving community.

To the editor: In regards to Shuniah Township’s O’Connor point lawsuit and temporary order, and especially being an election year coming up soon I wanted to remind Shuniah residents of a very important expensive fiasco that we still have

Hopefully the fact that Bombardier officials and striking workers have agreed to return to the bargaining table is a sign the seven-week stalemate might have an end in sight. The rhetoric being thrown around in the media by both sides is not pretty.

There is some serious silliness going on these days and everybody is joining in, including movie stars, musicians, politicians and regular people too.

It was a tragic month in Thunder Bay. Just weeks after Brandi Marie Wingert was killed, the result of a domestic dispute, police are dealing with two more bodies, cases they’ve labeled suspicious deaths.
