Letters to the Editor

LETTER: Bridge agreement looks iron clad

To the editor: The argument between the city, Fort William First Nation and CN seems pretty straight forward to me. It was a perpetual agreement which CN has already, by their own admission, been negligent.

LETTER: Parking issue becoming costly

To the editor: Progressive plan? When is enough enough? Thunder Bay city council has dropped the ball on the entire event centre issue. Earlier this year they told us that the 200 parking space inside the arena were not necessary.

LETTER: Giant hogweed has arrived

To the editor: I did a search and have not found anything reporting on a dangerous plant that is now présent in fields and roadsides near Thunder Bay. Specifically, these plants are growing abundantly on the roadsides leading to Chippewa Park.

LETTER: Bombardier not bargaining in good faith

To the editor: The Thunder Bay and District Labour Council, an organization representing more than 15,000 organized workers in Thunder Bay and area, is deeply concern about the current UNIFOR local 1075 strike against Bombardier Thunder Bay Operation

OPINION: Food for body and soul

I have always had a rocky personal relationship with my refrigerator. I‘ve tried to break it off but the attraction is strong and I always go crawling back for more.

LETTER: More needs to be done

To the editor: I am glad the University of Toronto has acknowledged our city as being on the right track. Unfortunately those are simply numbers. With that, we have also been named one of the most violent cities in Canada.

EDITORIAL: Staal Open a great show

Golf fan or not, get yourself out to Whitewater Golf Course this weekend. The Staal Foundation Open is finally here, and it’s your chance to see some of tomorrow’s finest golfers before they hit the big time.

Wi-Fi in the wilderness

I am told there are places on this Earth, inaccessible to wireless airwaves and free of the radiation and radio frequency fields from electronic devices.

LETTER: Pardon me?

To the editor: Regarding the piece entitled, “Seeking Pardons” (January 14, 2014, tbnewswatch.com), I would like to add something to the discussion, which many people, including yourself, may not be aware of.

EDITORIAL: Trespassing claim early

It looks like Fort William First Nation Chief Georjann Morriseau might have played her ace in the hole a hand too early.
