59-year-old Kejick Bay man facing charges of sexual assault, forcible confinement

THUNDER BAY - A 59-year-old Kejick Bay man has been arrested in connection to a sexual assault investigation involving firearms.

Lac Seul Police Service said in a media release issued Tuesday, Oct. 6, a search warrant was executed at a Kejick Bay residence after commencing an investigation into a sexual assault and forcible confinement incident in the community of Kejick Bay last Friday, Oct. 2.

During the search, police found a loaded firearm and ammunition and arrested Eric Everson, 59, of Kejick Bay.

Some of his charges include sexual assault, assault, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, use of a firearm while committing an offence, discharging a firearm-recklessness, careless storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, uttering threats, intimidation and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. 

Everson was held in custody for a bail hearing on Oct. 6. Police are continuing their investigation and believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.
