Fifty years ago, in 1975, three friends opened a small contracting company in Thunder Bay with a simple goal: to build with care, honesty, and pride in the community they call home. That company was Triad Roofing now known as Triad Contracting.

From the beginning, roofing homes and buildings was the company’s bread and butter—a foundation that allowed Triad to grow and branch out into other areas, including homebuilding, which they have been doing for the past 12 years. Over the decades, Triad has shaped Thunder Bay itself—keeping roofs over families’ heads, creating spaces where local businesses can thrive, and taking on projects that have become part of the city’s skyline. Through it all, their promise has remained the same: quality work delivered by people who care deeply about their community.

Triad’s story isn’t just about buildings—it’s about people. Many employees have spent their careers here, bringing skill, loyalty, and craftsmanship to every project. Some have even passed the trade down through generations, making Triad a part of their family story as well as Thunder Bay’s. This strong sense of connection has guided the company through challenges, changes, and triumphs over the past fifty years.

Now, as Triad Contracting celebrates its 50th anniversary, the milestone feels less like a number and more like a thank-you—to the community that has supported them, the families who trusted them with their homes, and the local workers who poured their hard work into every project.

From humble beginnings to becoming a cornerstone of Thunder Bay’s growth, Triad’s journey is one of resilience, dedication, and hometown pride. As they step into the next chapter, one thing is certain: Triad Contracting will continue building Thunder Bay—not just with bricks, beams, and roofs, but with heart, for generations to come.
