AbitibiBowater to begin maintenance of pipe in Kam River

AbitibiBowater will be performing maintenance on its main outfall pipe in the Kamistiquia River over the next week. Part of the work includes the installation of a floating boom on the north side of the river.

AbitibiBowater will be performing maintenance on its main outfall pipe in the Kamistiquia River over the next week. 

Part of the work includes the installation of a floating boom on the north side of the river. 

The boom will extend about 50 feet from the shore and will run about 100 feet along the river bank. 

The boom is expected to be removed from the river on Thursday. 

Boat traffic in the Kam will not be impacted throughout the duration of the work.
