AROLAND FIRST NATION, Ont. - A 24-year-old man of Aroland First Nation wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has been arrested.
The Ontario Provincial Police, with officers from the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service, the North West Region Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit, executed a warrant on Nov. 30 for a suspect at an Aroland residence.
Joseph Magiskan, who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant, was arrested and charged with assault and violating parole. He is being held in custody at the Thunder Bay OPP detachment and is scheduled to make a court appearance on Dec. 1 to answer to the charges.
