Axe attack leads to arrest of suspect and victim

A teenage axe attack landed a 16-year-old in prison over the weekend. Police say the suspect allegedly struck a 19-year-old with the weapon in the leg. Both victim and suspect fled from the scene, the 900 block of Georgina Bay, just before 5 a.m.

A teenage axe attack landed a 16-year-old in prison over the weekend.

Police say the suspect allegedly struck a 19-year-old with the weapon in the leg. Both victim and suspect fled from the scene, the 900 block of Georgina Bay, just before 5 a.m. on Saturday.

Both were ultimately taken into custody. The 16-year-old was charged with assault with a weapon and breach of probation. The 19-year-old was charged with obstructing police and failure to comply with recognizance.

Police say alcohol was a factor in the incident.
