Break and enter results in numerous charges

Mississauga man faces numerous offences following a break and enter.

MARATHON, Ont. -- A 38-year-old Mississauga man has been taken into custody in connection with a break and enter at a resort and café.

Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to Nature Nut Resort and Café on Highway 17 about 40 kilometres east of Marathon regarding a break and enter in progress.

Police say when officers arrived Friday around 8:30 p.m. they located a male outside the business.

He was arrested for the break and enter, but after further investigation police discovered a number of other offences which had occurred.

As a result of the investigation, the 38-year-old Mississauga man was charged with obstructing police, break and enter, three counts of mischief, theft of motor vehicle, theft under $5,000, assault, care and control of motor vehicle while impaired, fraud (), driving while disqualified and cruelty to animals.

He was held for a video hearing in Marathon on Saturday where he was denied bail and was remanded into custody and transported to the Thunder Bay District Jail to await further court appearances.
