Officials with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue say the cause of a fire on Minnesota Street will have to remain a mystery.
The house fire broke out at about 11 a.m. Monday. Fire officials say the blaze was not suspicious, but the exact cause will never be determined.
The fire department says damage to the roof was too extensive, and has made it unsafe for them to continue the investigation.
An interview with the two occupants has led them to believe the fire started in the rear bedroom of the home, which then quickly spread to the attic and roof.
Fortunately there were no injuries.
The home had significant structural damage as a result of the blaze.
