THUNDER BAY — Ontario Provincial Police have identified the vehicle involved in last week's collision which damaged the CNR overpass on Highway 61.
Police said they have also tracked down the driver who's alleged to have been operating the vehicle that struck the underside of the railway bridge, resulting in significant traffic disruptions on the highway.
OPP announced Tuesday that charges are pending, but their investigation continues.
They expressed thanks to the general public for information that was provided about the incident, but didn't provide further details.
Repairs to the overpass this week have forced the complete closure of Highway 61 between Neebing Avenue and Broadway Avenue from Monday evening until Thursday morning.
