THUNDER BAY – The City of Thunder Bay is reaching out to the public for input on a possible future cannabis retail store in the community.

The online survey wants to know whether or not allowing a brick-and-mortar cannabis store in the city would be supported by residents.

Municipalities in Ontario have a one-time window to choose whether or not to opt out of allowing private-sector stores within their boundaries. Otherwise the province has stated it will be an automatic opt-in that could see stores opening as early as April 1, 2019.

The survey runs until noon on Jan. 2 and can be found at www.thunderbay.ca/cannabisstores.
