City police offer Halloween safety message

As the ghosts and goblins prepare for Monday night out of trick or treating, the Thunder Bay Police Service has a few reminders for the public. Motorists should drive with caution and watch out for pedestrians.

As the ghosts and goblins prepare for Monday night out of trick or treating, the Thunder Bay Police Service has a few reminders for the public.

Motorists should drive with caution and watch out for pedestrians.

Children will often dart out as they cross the street.

We would like to remind parents to keep a few safety tips in mind:

• Small children should never go out alone
• Costumes should not impair a child’s vision
• Costumes or treat bags should have reflective material as part of their design
• Visit houses you know
• Check over your kid’s treats before they eat them
• Travel in a supervised group
• Use caution when crossing the street
