THUNDER BAY - Confederation College said it will continue to hold in-person classes at its Thunder Bay campus, but four regional campuses will be going online.

A release issued by Confederation College on Friday states based on guidelines from federal, provincial, and local health authorities surrounding COVID-19, classes and other operations are continuing at the Thunder Bay campus.

“The College is proactively preparing for the potential need to move to online only delivery, but at present will continue to deliver classes and services as originally scheduled, including face-to-face delivery,” the release states.

Four regional campuses, including Dryden, Red Lake, Sioux Lookout, and Wawa will be closing on March 16 and all classes will be delivered online.

“Options are being explored to arrange academic delivery for these campuses at alternate locations,” the release states. “An update about next steps for these campuses will be provided on Monday.”

The public event, Water Week, which was to take place on March 15 at Confederation College has been cancelled and upcoming events will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
