Thunder Bay city council is taking a closer look at the walking trail between County Park and the Grandview area.
During council’s regular scheduled meeting at city hall Monday night, Coun. Brian McKinnon said the tunnel has been the focus of public concern for some time. There have been many reports of dangerous activity in the area.
City staff has been asked to complete a report on viable options.
“I think we have to get some good data on this and I think there are solutions to increase safety and that’s the whole issue – increase safety,” Coun. McKinnon said. “I’m hoping that we come up with some really good suggestions and that we can act on them.”
There is no timeline for when the report will come back to council.
