COVID-19 outbreak declared at Southbridge Roseview long-term care

Nine Thunder Bay institutions currently have active outbreaks.

THUNDER BAY — A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at another Thunder Bay long-term care home.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit and Southbridge Care Homes confirmed Wednesday morning that an outbreak has been declared on the Champlain Floor of Southbridge Roseview.

Two individuals have tested positive for the virus.

TBDHU has determined that the transmission occurred within the Shuniah Street nursing home.

Enhanced surveillance and testing activities have been implemented.

Other long-term care homes where outbreaks remain in effect include Southbridge Pinewood, Southbridge Lakehead, and Hogarth Riverview Manor.

Outbreaks are also ongoing at Jasper Place, Chartwell Isabella, Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, the Thunder Bay District Jail and the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre.
