A man was rushed to hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries Sunday following a three-vehicle collision on Highway 11/17 east of Thunder Bay.
OPP closed the highway between Lakeshore Drive and just west of Spruce River Road and used the jaws of life to extract the victim from his car.
Police on scene said at least one of the vehicles involved was a transport, while a second car came to rest in a ditch on the southern side of the highway.
The collision occurred at about 7:30 p.m. A total of 18 firefighters responded to the call.
The highway was closed in both directions for about two hours, but police have sinced opened it to one lane of traffic.
Police continue to investigate.
