THUNDER BAY - Two people accused of second degree murder in the death of a Thunder Bay man will be heading to pre-trial early next year.

Emma Masakeyash, 43, and Skyler Masakeyash, 22, made an appearance in a Thunder Bay courtroom on Monday, where a pre-trial date of Jan. 3, 2018 was set to answer to charges of second-degree murder in connection to the death of 31-year-old Kevin Roundhead.

Roundhead was found unresponsive under the Cumberland Street Bridge near McVicar Creek on July 5. He was rushed to hospital but later died from his injuries.

Skyler Masakeyash was arrested on July 6 and Emma Masakeyash, along with 23-year-old, Jessie Chapais were arrested two days later and charged with second-degree murder.

Emma Masakeyash was originally granted a release order on Sept. 15, but the request was revoked by the crown after she was found in breach of two of her release conditions.

All three accused remain in custody. Chapais is expected to make her next court appearance on Dec. 5.
