THUNDER BAY – Goods & Co. was full of music and dancing on Sunday afternoon for Culture Days, an annual nation-wide event that takes place Sept. 23 to Oct. 16, to celebrate local arts and culture with a variety of activities and performances.
The members of World Dance Collective captivated shoppers with their dance routines as they showcased different dances from around the world Including Flamenco, Bollywood, Latin, and dances from the Middle East.
The group also held an interactive dance-along, in which audience members were able to join in the fun and learn a few moves along the way.
World Dance Collective president Cassandra Rhodes said it's important to be able to share international dances.
"Especially up in Northwestern Ontario we don't have a lot of cultural dance groups, so to showcase any of them is really great,” she said. "It's just nice to get the opportunity to showcase that for people so they get a little bit of exposure and get to enjoy it."
Sunday's event was one of a number of local activities and performances scheduled for the coming weeks. More details and a full list of events can be found at the city's website.
