KENORA, Ont. - A fire in downtown Kenora has sent one person to hospital with life threatening injuries.
According to an Ontario Provincial Police media release, emergency crews were advised of a structural fire early Wednesday morning at approximately 1:30 a.m. on First Street South.
The Kenora Fire Department and Kenora Ambulance along with Kenora OPP all responded to the fire. Arriving crews observed thick, heavy smoke coming from the building.
One person was pulled from the building and transported to hospital with what police are calling life threatening injuries.
First Street South between Matheson Street South and Main Street South will remain closed and people are asked to stay clear of the area.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
