Dryden OPP recover stolen vehicle and property

Ontario Provincial Police have two men in custody after recovering a stolen vehicle.

DRYDEN, Ont. – Ontario Provincial Police have recovered an allegedly stolen Manitoba vehicle last week.

Dryden OPP attempted to stop a motor vehicle Friday morning on Highway 105. The motor vehicle sped off and police continued to follow the vehicle, eventually locating it in the ditch on Highway 609.

The vehicle was originally stolen from the Winnipeg area.

Officers recovered several items of property and are attempting to locate the owners of that property.

Police charged a 46-year-old Dryden man with flight while pursued by peace officer, five counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, driving while disqualified, possession of break-in instruments, and three counts of failure to comply with recognizance.

Police also charged a 34-year-old Dryden man with four counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of break-in instruments and personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice.

Both accused were remanded into custody and appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Dec. 7.
