Expressway construction may face more delays

Construction along the Thunder Bay Expressway could take longer than expected. The project was originally supposed to wrap up by early this week, but it appears that might not be the case.

Construction along the Thunder Bay Expressway could take longer than expected.

The project was originally supposed to wrap up by early this week, but it appears that might not be the case. On Thursday, TBT News received information from the Ontario Ministry of Transportation saying the final paving of the Expressway and Red River Road intersection would be finished on schedule.

However, when TBT News spoke to a Carillion employee on site on Sunday, it seems things are moving at a much slower pace.

It appears construction could now take as long as two weeks to finish the project instead of wrapping up over the next few days.

The MTO is again reminding motorists to drive safely, and follow lane closures, detours, and directions from police.
