A small utility-room fire at Bight Restaurant got out of hand Tuesday night, sending one staff member to hospital as a precaution.
Firefighters were called in about 11:30 p.m. to battle the blaze, which staff could not douse with fire extinguishers.
Minimal damage was sustained in the room, while the waterfront restaurant did suffer light smoke damage.
Firefighters said they’re unsure whether the fire will affect restaurant operations.
Habitat for Humanity Thunder Bay’s Shoes and Champagne 2 event is scheduled to be held at Bight Thursday night.
Organizers for that event say they will learn later today if it can still go on at the restaurant.
