Five new COVID-19 cases within the Northwestern Health Unit service area

The case count in the Rainy River district stands at nine.

KENORA, Ont. — The Northwestern Health Unit reported new COVID-19 cases Monday in both the District of Rainy River and the Dryden/Red Lake region.

In Rainy River district, there are three new positive-19 test results.

This brings the active case count in the district to nine.

In Dryden/Red Lake there are two new cases, resulting in an active case count of three in that area.

The NWHU reported no active cases at present in either the Kenora or Sioux Lookout regions.

When voters head to the polls Monday for the federal election, the Northwestern Health Unit suggests those who are not yet fully vaccinated should take advantage of its vaccination clinics.

Shots are available at NWHU offices in Kenora, Fort Frances, Rainy River and Atikokan.
