An illegal hunting trip has cost three Kenora men more than $4,000 in fines.
The three men pleaded guilty to the charges of illegally killing a moose in December 2011 and were fined a total of $4,750. The fines included $2,000 for discharging a firearm from a roadway, $1,750 for making false statements to a conservation officer, and $1,000 for unlawfully hunting big game.
The Ministry of Natural Resources is now reminding the public that it is illegal and unsafe to shoot from, down or across a road while hunting.
The person who harvests wildlife while hunting in a party must immediately notify all other members of the party, and the game seal holder must immediately affix the game seal to the wildlife.
