In-school daycares will be closed because of coronavirus

Lakehead Public Schools announces list of closures, in addition to classes, that will be in place after the province decided to shut down schools until April 5.

THUNDER BAY – Lakehead Public Schools says in addition to classrooms being closed for two weeks after March Break, the provincially mandated coronavirus shutdown will also impact in-school daycares.

The board on Friday announed all child-care centres and EarlyON centres located in school will be closed.

Any questions or concerns are to be directed to the service providers themselves.

The decision also means the cancellation of all before- and after-school programs, onsite and offsite athletic activities and all community-use permits.

All co-op and work placements will also be suspended and all dual credit college classes will be cancelled.

Also suspended are breakfast programs.
