THUNDER BAY -- One year after it was launched, there is still no word on when a Special Investigations Unit probe of a Thunder Bay death will be concluded.
The SIU was called in following a standoff that began at 11 p.m. on July 12 of last year at the Kingsway Inn.
This followed reports of a 33-year-old man who had barricaded himself inside a room at the motel.
Officers attempted to make contact with the man and finally entered the room around 7 a.m. only to find the man dead.
When contacted by TBT News Thursday, SIU officials would only say the investigation of the case is ongoing and there is no word yet on when the inquiry will be concluded.
