Andrea Horwath has come full circle in her campaign.
Standing on a spot where she released parts of the NDP’s provincial northern platform last month, Horwath spoke to a loud crowd of supporters Tuesday afternoon at Hillcrest Park.
In her seven minute speech, the NDP leader reiterated parts of her party’s campaign such as removing HST from heat and hydro. She also made several references to the Liberal government and what she calls that party’s lack of respect for the north. The speech continuously referenced that people have a choice on Oct. 6.
“You can choose a government that actually listens to the North or you can choose a government that comes back and tells the North what was decided for them in Toronto,” Horwath said.
Horwath was interrupted several times by loud cheers and chants of “Andrea”.
“Respect for the North means that I am going to act like I respect to the North. I am going to listen to the North,” she said. “I’m going to make sure that everyday I ask myself ‘what am I dong to make their lives better’ because that’s my obligation as somebody who’s running for office.”
