Music lovers let it all hang out for a wild night with rocker John Mellencamp.

More than 70 people lined up outside the Fort William Gardens on Saturday in order to purchase the best seats possible for the upcoming concert. Half an hour after the doors opened at 10 a.m., the lineup was still out the door and wrapped around the corner of the stadium entrance.

Those who spoke with Tbnewswatch.com said despite waiting in the cold it was well worth it to see Mellencamp live on stage.

Gary Lemieux arrived half an hour before the doors opened and waited about an hour with his mom before he got his tickets to the show. Lemieux said he’s been a big Mellencamp fan since he was a child and remembers all of his classic hits -- but his favourite is Authority Song.

“I’m pretty excited to go see him live,” Lemieux said. “It will be a good experience. His music crosses genres. It’s country, rock, folk and everything. What more can you ask for?”

He said he`ll be going to the show with his mom and older brother.

Karen Marano came even earlier than Lemieux to get her tickets. The wait paid off and she got floor seats.

“We wanted to get good seats for my mom,” Marano said. “She’s been a huge fan all her life. My brother and I stood in line so we can treat her to the concert.”

Donald Mclaren waited for more than an hour and said he’s not a big fan of Mellencamp, but his wife is and he said he'd be a good husband and attend the show with her.

“I’m buying the tickets for my sweetheart,” Mclaren said. “This is a big event. I got tickets for the both of us. I wouldn’t let her go alone. We’re up close to the stage so we got really good seats.”

Mellencamp will be performing on June 26 at the Fort William Gardens.
