THUNDER BAY – A second one-day walk-out scheduled for Wednesday by the Ontario Secondary Schools Teachers’ Federation will not impact Thunder Bay schools.

Lakehead Public Schools of Friday issued a statement saying all of its elementary and secondary schools, as well as the Lakehead Adult Education Centre will be open on Dec. 11.

The union, in contract negotiations with the province, has scheduled one-day strikes at nine boards across Ontario.

“Lakehead Public schools is not one of the boards that will be impacted by the one-day strike,” said a spokesperson for the local board.
