THUNDER BAY — A local flight operations and safety management company has completed a hard-to-reach milestone in security features.
As a flight operations and safety management company, AirSuite provides data storage service that small to medium-sized airlines subscribe to. According to a news release from the local company, it has spent the last 18 months meeting rigorous controls to achieve international certification status in protecting client data using a software called Cirro.
The type of data that they house includes flight information and itineraries, pilot certifications and other information, along with passenger manifests, various certificate libraries, flight duty times, compliance reporting and other high security industry-specific data.
Working out of Thunder Bay, the company houses data for aviation businesses across Canada, including: aerial firefighting companies, fixed-wing aviation companies and many helicopter businesses, and local operations as well.
In the release, Michael Kleywegt, CEO of AirSuite, is quoted saying that, “achieving ISO certification is more than a milestone for Cirro; it was a rigorous process that included over 125 specific security, cloud, and privacy controls that we were measured against. It is a promise to our clients that their operational data is protected to the highest global standards. ”
ISO is the world’s largest developer and publisher of International Standards informed by a network of national standards bodies of 173 countries, with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland.
Receiving these certifications will allow the local company to expand more into the international market.
