Longlac man charged after pedestrian and pet struck by vehicle

LONGLAC, Ont. - A Longlac man is facing charges following a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian and a pet.

According to an Ontario Provincial Police media release, officers with the Greenstone Detachment and Superior North EMS responded to reports of a collision on East Road on Nov. 14.

Police said a pick-up truck struck a person who suffered minor injuries, however, a pet that was being walked was also struck and killed.

Following an investigation, police arrested and charged a 22-year-old Longlac man with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

The man is scheduled to appear in a Longlac court on Feb. 13 to answer to the charges.
