THUNDER BAY - Police have laid charges in relation to a sudden death investigation on the city’s south side earlier this week.

Jordan Arnold, 27, has been charged with one count of committing an indignity to human remains and one count of breaching a probation order.

Arnold appeared in a Thunder Bay Courtroom via video from the Thunder Bay Police Service headquarters on Friday where he was released with a promise to pay $250.

There is a publication ban in place on all evidence heard in court and the identity of the deceased female, who is a youth.

Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service responded to the 200 block of Norah Street North Wednesday evening at approximately 8:40 p.m. after the body of the female was located in a lane-way in the area.

A post-mortem examination on the deceased female is being scheduled to take place in Toronto. Police continue to hold the scene as the investigation remains ongoing.
