THUNDER BAY - A Hamilton man charged with drug trafficking in June has been taken into custody for violating his bail.

Adrian Puentes-Reed was arrested by the police's intelligence unit on Tuesday following an investigation.

The accused was charged with drug-related offences along with a 26-year old man from Edmonton, but was released with conditions at that time.

A search warrant executed in June by Thunder Bay Police resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of oxycodone and hydromorph pills, marijuana, cocaine, a large sum of Canadian currency and handguns with ammunition, leading to the suspect's arrest.

The accused appeared in court on Wednesday where he was formally charged with failing to comply with condition recognizance. He was remanded into custody with a future court date of Jan. 10.
