Police say a weekend drowning victim in Jacques Township wasn’t wearing a life jacket .
Officials with the OPP confirmed that Ernest Rumpel, 76, of Thunder Bay fell out of his canoe on Cummins Lake after it tipped over sometime Saturday afternoon.
The man was taken to the hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police believe the German Shepherd dog who was with Rumpel may have caused the canoe to tip over.
