Mission Nutrition food drive a success in first year

The Shelter House and the Dew Drop Inn are receiving a big boost in their supplies.

The Shelter House and the Dew Drop Inn are receiving a big boost in their supplies.

Healthy Families Wellness Centre, Jessiman Chiropractic Clinic, Port Arthur Chiropractic and Santin Chiropractic have teamed up for a food drive, nicknamed Mission Nutrition.

The goal was for each clinic to collect 1,000 pounds of food from their patients.

They managed to clear that goal with about 4,500-pounds of non-perishable items brought in.

Chiropractor James DiGiuseppe said the clinics wanted to give back to the community.

DiGiuseppe added that more food is expected to come in over the next couple of days, which will be brought to the shelters.

He said he is hoping to have more clinics come on board next year to help make Mission Nutrition an even bigger success.
