One of two COVID outbreaks over at Hogarth Riverview Manor

Health authorities have declared an outbreak of COVID-19 in the long-term care home’s 5S (Orchid) area to be over.

THUNDER BAY – An outbreak of COVID-19 at the Hogarth Riverview Manor has been declared over, leaving one remaining outbreak still active at the long-term care home.

An outbreak in the Lillie Street home’s 5S (Orchid) area, reported on July 15, was declared over by the Thunder Bay District Health on Friday.

Another outbreak in the 2S (Bluebell) area of the St. Joseph’s Care Group-operated facility, reported July 29, remains active.

The health unit was tracking a total of eight COVID-19 outbreaks in vulnerable settings across the Thunder Bay district as of Friday.

Aside from the outbreak in the Hogarth Riverview Manor’s 2S area, that includes outbreaks at the Geraldton District Hospital, Chartwell’s Arundel retirement home, Pioneer Ridge, the 1A unit at Thunder Bay’s regional hospital, and other locations not disclosed by the health unit.
